Wholemeal Red Wine Chocolate Cherry Cake

What you'll need:
  • 210g Blue Jacket Wholewheat Flour 

  • 40g cocoa powder

  • 100g caster sugar

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2tsp sea salt

  • 1 cup red wine

  • 1/4 cup cherry jam

  • 5tbsp grapeseed oil

  • 1/2tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup semisweet cocoa drops    

  • Icing sugar or cocoa powder for garnish

Blue Jacket Wholewheat Flour


Makes 1 x 6" Round Cake

1. Mix Blue Jacket Whole Wheat Flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.

2. Mix oil, jam, red wine, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Add this into step 1.

3. Add in chocolate drops and mix well. Afterwards, pour the batter into a pre-greased cake mound.

4. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for about 40 minutes. Use a skewer to test if the cake is ready.  Remove from oven and let the cake cool. Dust some icing sugar over as garnish before serving.
